STRONG BOND SUCCESS STORY

dog

"Working with Alex is wonderful. He is very knowledgeable, passionate about dogs (and working with people!), patient, and caring. He has years of experience dogs and it shows. I really appreciate his approach: he focuses on meeting core needs and relating to your dog, rather than just addressing 'issues'. After just four sessions working together, I feel much more confident in my ability to work through challenges and I feel closer to my puppy Mikko as a result of our sessions. I would highly recommend reaching out to strong bond training to work with Alex and Christine. Thanks Alex!"

THERAPY DOG TRAINING PROGRAM

For Dogs Who Are Ready to Share Their Gift

This program is ideal for dogs who have the heart for therapy work, even if they still need training to develop the skills.

Your dog does not need to be perfect. They may still need practice with greetings, focus, confidence, impulse control, or staying calm in busy environments. What matters most is that your dog enjoys people, has a generally friendly temperament, and has the potential to become calm and comfortable in social settings with the right guidance.

If your dog is already a rockstar companion, we’ll help you refine their skills for therapy dog visits. If your dog is still growing into that role, we’ll help you build the foundation they need to become a more confident, gentle, and dependable partner.

This program is also for handlers who want to volunteer with purpose. We’ll help you understand how to guide your dog, protect their wellbeing, and become the kind of team people are happy to welcome into their space.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT...

  • We believe therapy dog work begins with the relationship between you and your dog.

  • Your dog should not be forced into this work. They should enjoy it. They should feel safe, supported, and confident as they learn how to share their natural gifts with others.

  • Instead of simply drilling obedience, we focus on trust, communication, emotional awareness, and real-world preparation

  • A great therapy dog is not just well-behaved. They are grounded, connected, and comfortable sharing love with the people who need it most.

TESTING PREPARATION...

  • Different therapy dog organizations and volunteer locations have different testing requirements.

  • If you can provide us with the testing requirements for the place where you and your dog would like to volunteer, we can customize your training plan to include those specific skills. This allows us to train directly toward the behaviors your dog may need to demonstrate, so you can walk into your test feeling prepared, confident, and ready to pass with flying colors.
